A Note About Heaven
“But, as it is written, “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him”—
1 Corinthians 2:9
There is a hymn my kids love to sing called “Wonderful Words of Life” (we’ve been singing it a lot since watching Benjamin cello, perfect for littles), and there’s a line that goes like this,
“All so freely given,
Wooing us to Heaven,
Beautiful words, Wonderful words,
Wonderful words of life.”
It got me thinking about how God “woos” us to Heaven..
Matthew 6:19-21 says “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
I’ve been watching a few friends of mine as well as family walk through some of the hardest loses of their lives, and I’ve had to kneel before The Lord and His word to find comfort and wisdom in suffering ... there's so much to talk about in that, but something I keep finding so much life in is that when our lifetime is marked with heavy heartaches, we're not alone, when we long for Heaven, those who choose to honour God and believe He is faithful still, gives God INTENSE GLORY that will never end.. (Read Psalms 145)
Our faith on earth can further bring God glory when it touches the lives of those around us, turning our sorrows into windows to Heaven. Imagine holding dear those wonderful words of the Gospel with sincere hope, as a living testimony for Christ, and what that might do to the dying hopeless world watching.
